Flips, freezes, and Fidget Feet: 15th Anniversary celebration
Celebrating 15 years of making Kirklees cool, hip-hop dance group Fidget Feet took over the Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield – bringing local schools together for a talent showcase never seen before.

The aim wasn’t just to capture the performances, but to create an extended body of video content that could both document participation throughout the project and support future funding – all while capturing impact on the ground from the young people themselves.
Using a multi-camera event video production approach, the full performances were recorded and mixed, alongside audience interactions and interviews behind the scenes with participants – creating a comprehensive record of the showcase and more importantly, its impact.
But we nearly missed the big picture.
We returned to their Hip Hop Summer Camp in Huddersfield to document all the steps that lead up to an event like the 15th Anniversary – capturing the case study stories of artists who have been seen that journey firsthand and the impact its had on the community.
The resulting films became valuable video assets for Fidget Feet – supporting engagement reporting for Arts Council England, strengthening funding applications for their next project, and creating a lasting archive of the event for them to cherish.
By combining performance filming with a clear documentation/case study strategy for the go, the videos can continue to support Fidget Feet’s visibility, growth, and future opportunities.
